At the conclusion of most naps, we sneak in to see Natalie standing up in her crib, hands tightly grasping the railing. She announces her awakening with song, now accompanied by the thunderous rattle of her crib shaking exercise. She boogies and bangs!

Cute subjects, but the picture is a little cruddy. But when I tried to capture it without the flash, it ended up like this:
Curse you, little kids always moving! Blurry and all, this one's pretty cute:

Hey your slats are about as wide as ours. Did you ever have trouble with either kids ... (you did use the same crib for both right?) getting arms or legs stuck in slats? In other words, did you use bumpers?
Or did you always use a crib for them from the get go and they just got used to it?
We used a bassinet for the girls when they were really little, but then they moved right to the crib without bumpers. We had read that bumpers posed all sorts of risks (strangulation, suffocation, stepping on them to fall out, etc.), so we opted not to use them.
Both girls have gotten their legs stuck in this one, but only a couple of times and never with any sort of injury.
I once filmed coming into the room to find Natalie's legs straight out of the crib, but she was not happy about it. ;)
