We've been struggling to teach/ train/ persuade/ charm Leah into treating Natalie like the small, fragile infant she is while also trying to forge something of a bond between the sisters. It's been a bit tricky -- Leah has drawn on Natalie's head with a marker, leaned on her limbs, and conked her on the head, *mostly* unintentionally. Some of her "mothering" tendencies have also been cause for us to cringe and intervene. We pull blankets off of Natalie's face, readjust the sunscreen on the car seat, and prevent any number of things from entering poor Natalie's mouth. Still, there are signs that Leah might be learning.
This morning, for instance, Leah "read" to Natalie in the recliner. Even as she tried to readjust Natalie's head so that she was looking at the pages, Leah used a more gentle touch. It was too cute to describe, so check out the photo.
